For International Women’s Day 2024, we collaborate with LUMINE Singapore to share the value of reconnection.
During an interview between our founder and CEO, Denica Riadini-Flesch, and LUMINE Singapore’s team, they conversed about the story of SukkhaCitta in connection with the empowerment of rural Indonesian women.
“The story of SukkhaCitta is a story of a woman. It was my story as a woman, whose first time going to the villages meeting all these amazing women – it was also the first time I realized that there are all these lives that are connected to you.” – Denica Riadini-Flesch
Denica further shares that this time we’re allowing change to happen by putting to the forefront the voices of these marginalized women. Because, unfortunately, we live in a system where these women are kept small and invisible. This collaboration with LUMINE Singapore is the time to shed light on these women and give her a broader stage to be discovered.
“It is to remind you that when we empower women, we lift up her entire community. We are actually giving her a chance to earn a fairer work so she can change her life.” – Denica Riadini-Flesch
By amplifying our Ibus’ work to retail partners such as LUMINE Singapore, we are increasing the chances for Mothers in Indonesian Villages to reach new audiences and revel in the beauty of reconnection. Because we should celebrate the hard work and labour that has been poured into each piece, so that these Mothers can feel empowered in their crafts and, as a result, enrich their livelihoods.
